Canary Islands Stonechat (subspecies Saxicola dacotiae dacotiae) is endemic to Fuerteventura Island, where it is not rare and shows a wide distribution, mainly in ravines and rocky places in the low parts of mountains and massifs. The subspecies S. d. murielae, endemic to the islets of Alegranza and Montaña Clara (Lanzarote), is extinct. The bird in the image is a juvenile male. |
