@Jan Hein Ik ben de draad even kwijt, begrijp ik nou goed dat Avilist DE norm is/wordt en dat IOC de vele lumps daarin gaat overnemen, teneinde die ene eenvormige checklist van alle vogels in de wereld te krijgen waar we al decennia op hopen? Zo ja, wanneer voert IOC dat door?

Dat klopt, Remco. Dit jaar (juli/augustus) volgt er nog één laatste update van IOC, waarna IOC stopt en volledig wordt vervangen door de nieuwe AviList.

"The IOC World Bird List and eBird/Clements teams will be discontinuing their independent taxonomic efforts in 2025–2026, focusing those efforts on AviList for the future. IOC version 15.2 will be the last, and eBird/Clements will carry out final revisions up until 2026 to fully catch up with AviList, but is already 99% aligned."

Voor ondersoorten gebruikt AviList nog deze uit IOC v11.2 (d.d. juli 2021), die nog niet integraal zijn geüpdatet sindsdien. Dit staat voor AviList op de planning tegen AviList v2026.

"For the first version of AviList (v2025), review and alignment of subspecies has not been a priority. Although all three checklists (IOC World Bird List, BirdLife International, and eBird/Clements) include subspecies, the very large number of discrepancies would have made the reconciliation task unmanageable. Therefore, AviList v2025 started with a baseline list of subspecies from IOC v11.2 (July 2021), and this initial subspecies taxonomy has been largely carried through to AviList v2025. [...]

An initial task for AviList v2026 will be to bring the subspecies into full alignment with the final version of IOC (15.2, expected in July/August 2025). The AviList team will then set some global standards for consistent definition of subspecies at a global level. For future versions, we expect Regional Advisory Groups to assist in standardizing and modernizing subspecies delineation across AviList."
