Hi.

How many records are known of this species for Europe? In the Canary Islands there is one doubtful observation, but no confirmed records...

Anton Duijnhouwer  ·  2 juni 2019  22:00

Hi Rubén,

More than 75 in the Netherlands alone and since 2018 no longer a species to be submitted to the rarities committee.

There have been at least 2 records of the species in the Azores (10/2007, 10/2016). In Belgium, we've had 15 individuals in total (of which a returning bird since 2013).

Hi again.

Thanks for the responses.

Anton, yesterday I was with a North American birder in many of the sites we visited together some years ago. I suppose you remember the nice observations of the two pigeons in the north of Tenerife...

Best regards.
